The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) wishes to advise the public that its Registration Area Office for Sangre Grande, located at 355 Brierley Street, Sangre Grande will be affected by the disruption of electricity to the area on Wednesday 17th April, 2024.

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission has advised of scheduled overhead line maintenance work, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 pm, which will affect Brierley Street.

The EBC apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause. Normal operations will resume on Thursday 18th April, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.

The Elections and Boundaries Commission wishes to advise that its Registration Area Office for Princes Town, located at 145 High Street, Princes Town (Corner Naparima Mayaro Road & St. Croix Rd.), will be closed today, Tuesday 9th April 2024 until further advised.

This office closure has become necessary due to a fire, which affected the upper level of the building. The EBC assures the public that all registration documents remain intact. There was no damage to any records due to this fire. The office however will remain closed whilst the necessary preparations are made to ensure the safety of both EBC staff and the public.

The EBC apologises for any inconvenience that this temporary closure will cause but reiterates that this closure is in the interest of public health and safety.

Press Release – EBC Princes Town Office closed due to fire damage – April 9, 2024

The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) advises the public that its Registration Area Office for Point Fortin, located at 28 Canaan Road, Point Fortin, will be closed at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday 28th March, 2024.

Normal operations will resume on Tuesday 2nd April, 2024.

The EBC apologizes for any inconvenience that this early closure may cause.

The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) is pleased with the Court of Appeal’s decision to uphold the ruling of High Court Judge, Justice Marissa Robertson in the election petition filed by the United National Congress (UNC) against the EBC in the electoral district of Lengua/Indian Walk, in the 2023 Local Government Elections.

Fern Narcis-Scope, Chief Election Officer said notwithstanding the adversarial nature of litigation, the Commission acknowledges all political parties as important stakeholders in this country’s democratic process. Narcis-Scope added that both High Court and Court of Appeal judges ruled that the EBC “acted correctly” and in accordance with the law in the circumstances.

With respect to statements made by judges in both the High Court and Court of Appeal regarding the EBC’s conduct in this matter, the Commission will review these comments in earnest and make the necessary adjustments in its operations for future elections.

The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) is advising the public that its Registration Area Office for San Juan, located at 125 Eastern Main Road, Barataria, will close to the public at 12 noon on Friday 21st March, 2024.

This temporary closure is necessary to facilitate a scheduled fumigation exercise of the premises by the Ministry of Health.

The EBC apologizes for any inconvenience that this temporary closure may cause and advises of the resumption of normal operations on Monday 25th March, 2024.

The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) advises the public that its Registration Area Office for Sangre Grande, which is located at 355 Brierley Street, Sangre Grande, may be affected by planned maintenance work being undertaken by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) on Friday, March 22nd, 2024.

T&TEC has advised that this scheduled maintenance work will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. respectively.

The EBC apologizes for any inconvenience that this disruption to the supply of electricity may cause.

Yesterday, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, the office was closed early due to an insufficient supply of water.

The public is advised that the Elections and Boundaries Commission’s (EBC’s) Registration Area Office for Arima & Piarco, located at 16-17 Pro Queen Street, Arima, has been forced to close at 12:30 pm today (6th March 2024) due to water supply issues.

We will advise about the resumption of normal operations at this office, as soon as possible.

The public is advised that the Elections and Boundaries Commission’s (EBC’s) Registration Area Office for Arima & Piarco, located at 16-17 Pro Queen Street, Arima, has resumed normal operations.

Yesterday, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, the office was closed due to an insufficient supply of water.

The Elections and Boundaries Commission wishes to advise the public that due to the procession of the National Carnival Commission’s Traditional Carnival Character Parade from Memorial Park and along Frederick Street on Friday 9^th February, 2024, our offices will be closed to the public from 2:00 p.m.

We regret any inconvenience this closure may cause.
